Chris McDonel

Chris McDonel was born, raised and is now raising his own family in Harrisburg, PA. He grew up fishing and camping at Lake Raystown and wade fishing on the Susquehanna River with his dad and brother. He bought his first jet boat at the age of 23 and started fishing many local river tournaments. A few years later purchased his first fiberglass bass boat, a 19’ Stratus with a 175hp Johnson. This purchase led him into fishing more tournaments across the Northeast including the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay, various PA lakes and a few on the Finger Lakes in New York. Once Chris started a family, he continued to fish, but focused his time locally on the Susquehanna River. He has been guiding on and off for around 20 years with a heavy focus over the past seven or eight years. Chris has owned a few jet boats and been in more than he can count, but what he owns now he feels is one of the best, a 2017 Rockproof RiverRocket with a 200hp inboard jet. This boat along with Chris’s years of knowledge on the river will get you to the fish no matter what the water level is. Whether you’re an amateur just looking for advice and knowledge to hone your skills or a professional looking to fish hard, Chris is willing to help and share his knowledge. Having two young boys himself that he has taught to fish has given him the experience and patience to be a great choice if you have a younger son or daughter you would like to bring along. Chris is a licensed and insured guide in Pennsylvania, and looks forward to showing you a good day on the water. While you cannot control if the fish bite or not , you can have a fun time trying.
If the sun is shining or buckets of rain falling, Chris is your guide. Just bring the sunscreen or the rain gear.
